Katie & Lewis’ Wedding Story – A Timeless Celebration
Bridal Preparations at Birtsmorton Court
The morning started in Birtsmorton Court’s elegant bridal suite, where Katie’s timeless satin gown was displayed on a stunning four-poster bed. The room’s natural light and warm tones created the perfect setting for soft, elegant portraits.
Her bridal look was effortlessly chic, with a minimalist dress, a delicate fur stole, and timeless accessories. Meanwhile, Lewis and his groomsmen got ready in the manor’s oak-beamed rooms, wearing deep navy-blue suits with rich red boutonnieres—a perfect nod to the season.
Photography Tip:
Soft window light creates flattering, natural bridal portraits.
Warm tones of historic interiors add a timeless feel to wedding photography.

An Enchanting Ceremony in The Great Hall
Birtsmorton Court’s Great Hall set the stage for a heartfelt, intimate ceremony. The wooden beams, medieval tapestries, and chandeliers created a romantic, candlelit ambiance as Katie walked down the aisle.
Surrounded by seasonal florals in deep reds, ivory, and greenery, the couple exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends.
Photography Tip:
Shooting at a slightly higher ISO captures the warm candlelit glow, adding depth and atmosphere.
Capturing candid reactions of guests enhances storytelling in wedding albums.

Golden Hour Portraits & The Moated Grounds
Despite the crisp December air, we embraced the historic beauty of Birtsmorton Court’s gardens for some stunning winter portraits.
The moated reflections, ivy-covered archways, and dramatic stone walls created an ethereal backdrop for Katie & Lewis’ newlywed photos. As the golden winter sun set, their love was captured in soft, romantic light.
Photography Tip:
Winter golden hour (around 2-4 PM) provides soft, flattering light.
Backlit portraits during sunset add a dreamy, cinematic effect.

An Intimate, Candlelit Reception in The Garden Pavilion
For the evening reception, Birtsmorton Court’s Garden Pavilion transformed into a warm and elegant space, adorned with twinkling fairy lights, rustic wooden beams, and festive greenery.
Guests enjoyed a candlelit dinner, heartfelt speeches, and mulled wine, creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere. One of the most unforgettable moments? A stunning sparkler exit, with the couple surrounded by a sea of glowing lights.
Photography Tip:
A slower shutter speed captures the movement of sparklers while keeping the couple in sharp focus.
Using fairy lights in the foreground adds depth and warmth to evening portraits.
